I just had 4.10's installed. what would be the best wheel and tire combo? Looking at MT ET streets but what size? Size wheel?

 

ET Street biasply tires have the best performance. The radials are more of a street tire. The biasplys are basically slicks with 3 grooves in em to make them street legal. Not to mention the tires weigh nothing because there is no steel belts in them. The biasply tires are not meant for driving in the street with, they cannot take a hard corner because the sidewalls have no reinforcement. They are wrinkle wall tires (also known as baloney skins).

I plan on running the 3743 tires on my stock 17" rims. Others have done it with no problem. I got 2 spare rims to mount them on. That way I can put them on at the track and take them off when I leave.

 

There are many cars running well into the 11's with the MT drag radials. Don't sell them short. They work awesome for me. Plus, I can drive to and from the track on them.

 

what size radials are you running? would you go withP255/50R16 or P275/40R17? which would be better with 4.10's and manual.

 

I have the 275/40-17s on a 17x9 wheel.

 

the 275/40-17s will fit on the stock 17X8 rim just fine

Given a choice, I would go with the 275/40-17... the extra width would be beneficial. What size 16" wheel do you have? If I could find a lightweight 16x10 (or even 16x9), I might consider going with the 26X11.50-16 or the 28X12.50-16 ET Streets.

 

What RPM do you launch at with the ET Streets on there? I saw a guy at the strip with them on his 05 GT and he tried to launch at 4000 RPM and the car just bogged down.
Also, could launching at high RPM with drag radials ruin the stock clutch?

 

I need to launch at 5000 RPM with 4.10s and M/Ts. If you're drag racing and worrying about frying the clutch, stay home

 

How many passes have you made on your stock clutch? Curious as well with those tires and 3.55s what would a good launch rev be? Will be putting some stickies on stock 17" bullits soon and adding LCAs,UCA and panhard bar. Thanks
