Drag Launch option on SCT Xcal?

Anyone seen this before?

Drag Launch
The "Drag Launch" option provides a two-stage rev limiter for your car. You can customize the Launch RPM the same way you customize your Idle RPM and your Rev Limit RPM. The idea is to find the best RPM for you to launch at. If you don't know your ideal launch RPM, you might want to experiment at the local drag strip to find your ideal launch RPM before asking for this option. This can vary according to launch surface, temperature, and other environmental factors. When you're stopped, the launch RPM Limiter is activated. If your Launch RPM is set to 3,000 RPM, it will sit happily at 3,000 RPM when you put the accelerator to the floor. Once you are moving (after you dump the clutch), your Rev Limit RPM is activated. This option is intended for track use only.

Found this too.....

Idle RPM: -300 to +300RPM
Cooling Fan: On / Off Temp
Traction Control: On / Off
Two Step: On / Off & RPM

One of the local guys was fiddling with the launch.
I don't know if he ever got it to work the way he wanted.

Also known as a "Two-Step". Some tracks do not permit this in certain events as it's considered "electronics". You'll see that they may advertise "No Electronics".

Anyway, I wish my Predator had this option. Would make launching 100x easier.

How do we enable this? I guess it has to be enabled by the vendor you bought the tunes from?

There have been people using this function since the X2 came out....from what I've read, sometimes it works well, and other times it doesn't. I believe you have to have the function enabled when it is plugged into a PC with the SCT tuning software.

Since you're running a Brenspeed tune, call Brent or Dave and see what they say. Good luck!

Yes, it's true. I was planning in playing with this cool little feature in the coming months but I may be buying another car tomorrow and the fate of my car is undecided at this moment. Let's just say the car I'm strongly considering is the most I've ever spent on a car in my life....

Isn't there a seperate "neutral" rev limiter setting? I think that's what they're using.

I was gonna say, just set your neutral rev limiter to whatever you want to launch at

I think the neutral rev limit only works for autos, but I'm not for sure on that. I remember setting the neutral limit for like 4K once, and it woudn't let the car go higher than 4K even while it was in gear. I could have gotten it backwards though...I'll test it out tonight.
