Down to 2 Tires

After reading and comparing tire sizes, prices and forum comments, I am down to 2 finalists. Need some advice on which to pick. Will be running them on 05 manual with a Paxton HO and 4.10. The 2 are MT 295/45/17 or M&H 275/50/17. I will be running them on Bullitt 17/9. I have Nitto 450 275/17 on it now and just can not get them to hook. They will see both street and track but mostly street. Thanks.

I would recommend the M&H but go with the 325/45/17. The M&H hook great and they run a little narrow so the 325 fits great on a 9 inch rim.

Thanks Earl. I have certainly heard good things about that tire. My 05 has Steeda Sports Springs so it sits about an inch lower that stock. Will the 325s tuck in the wheel wells or do they stick out?

With the stock 17X9 wheels they will tuck in just fine.

Thanks again. Looks like I have 3 to consider. I really like the idea of the wider tire. Retired Freight Flyer? Is that right.

That's correct. I'm an old guy but I still like fast cars.

If you do have 17x9 wheels, I agree with Earl- the M&H 325's- that's what I plan to do this spring.

Note the factory '05+ bullitt wheels are 17x8 though, and the 325 probably won't fit on the 8" wheel so make sure you have the 9". I have a set of aftermarket 17x9" bullitts that I use currently for BFG 275/40 drag radials and they don't hook for nothing so the M&H should be a big improvement for me.

I didn't make my post very clear. I know the stock wheels are 8 inches wide, I assumed he had aftermarket as he said 17x9. I meant with the stock offset wheels the tires would tuck in just fine. What offset are your 17x9 Bullets?

Can't be any older than I am. Retired from flying after 33 years now work for Boeing. Raced when I was a kid at Amarillo Tx and Hobbs NM. Now I am 18 again but got money this time around. Plan to do some fun racing at Thunder Valley in Noble OK this summer.

I used to fly into Boeing Field. What are you going to be doing in OK if you live in Tacoma?
