Hi I have a question; if one purchases a cold air intake, then it eliminates the need for a K&N air filter, right? Because the intake replaces that whole unit, correct? Or am I wrong?

yes, you get a whole intake arm, plus a K&N CONE air filter, rather than a boxed filter
