I just recently found out that the speed shop 1 mile from my house is a diablo dealer and a dyno shop. Has anyone with this tuner have their car dyno tuned? Is it basically the same thing as a dyno tuned ExCal 2? I would think a dyno tune would be much better than a mail order tune. Any info would be great.

A professional dyno tune is the way you want to go if you added a CAI/Exhaust to adjust for air flow, etc. Just to give you an idea, my car, which is an auto...with the mods listed and the "canned" 93oct diablo tune gave me a gain of 20HP. With a proper tune, even with my car being an auto I have seen gains at closer to 30HP. For a GT I hear the gains can be even more as the engine in the GT is more mod friendly.

Unfortunately I bought my diablo thinking I could find a local dyno shop for it, nope!!! All three race shops near me are SCT2. I am actually switching to SCT tomorrow and getting a professional dyno.

So, stick with what your shop uses! Just my opinin.

It is best to drop this idea and go with a SCT-2 from one of the BIG THREE tuners in the US. Cost less in the long run and works the first time you install it.

Yea, one thing about the Preds is they don't have the ability to firm up the shift points like the SCT's do, so for an AUTO, they really are not an option.

Having a shop closeby where you can have your car professionsally dyno tuned should be the guiding principle.

If that tuner does Diablo, go Diablo, if he does SCT, go SCT. Simple as that.

You are correct that getting a dyno tune is much better than a mail order tune.

Once you go over just simple bolt-ons, nobody is going to be able to help you out by e-mail.

it definately seems to be that more people support SCT on this site than Diablo.

I don't think the diablo is a bad unit, but the SCT unit has dominated the 05' platform with proven unmatchable results.

I'm sure everyone here would like to see some comparative data to back up this comment, firmer shifting in auto equipped vehicles aside. No subjective opinions please. Thanks.
