Defective Boost Pump
Anybody have a Keene Bell bap go bad ? If one did could it cause one of the connections that's arrow clamped to blow off. I was driveing Sat. getting on it pretty hard when the engine suddenly quit, had to be towed home. I discovered one of the connections had come apart, put it back on, the car still would not start, I then checked the fuse in the bap, it looked okay, I took it out and the car started right up. It would not idle but ran okay as long as you kept your foot on the gas. Put the fuse back in, it started but ran very rich bad and rich.. Let it sit for an hour and tried again would not start, took fuse out ran as before . It also threw a code P0191 fuel rail pressure sensor circuit/ performance, this was when the fuse was in the bap. Any ideas ?

I know the first one Dave put in when he did the install was bad, he said it was the first time. I'm 99% sure this one went bad also. I also found the connection came off near the oil filter on the s/c, you don't thnk the bap going bad could have blown this off also ? O r did I have two seperate problems. I f it is in fact the bap again I'm switching to the GT500 fuel pump, I won't trust the bap again. I want to take it on vacation this Sept. to the smokey mts. don't want to get stranded !

I don't think the BAP would cause your connection to fail at the oil filter. Eitherway, hopefully you'll be able to absolutely positively confirm the BAP is bad or not. If it is, I would upgrade to the GT500 pumps or maybe the Ford GT pumps. I'm thinking about that myself too.
