I'm awaiting my BMR Panhard rod and I wanted to know how you GT owners who cut the springs are riding these days. It was a big topic a while back and I have all the write ups, I'm just looking for any feedback on long term ride results.

I think I might have been the first one to attempt cutting the stock springs. It has been over a year, and I haven't had any problems, not sure if I would advise anyone else to do it due to difficult placement of the spring on the strut w/out it falling off. I guess it works though because it's been over a year and have no complaints.
1 coil in the front and 2 in the rear.
FYI - never got an alignment and there is not abnormal tire wear either

Evergreen trees, I guess. They stay green in the winter, hence the name "evergreen"

..."Stay on target."

Anyone else using their cut springs? I know many of you tried it after the directions were posted...

I cut my stock springs several months ago and the ride is still awesome. No bottom-outs and she takes corners very well. Afterwards, I took her to the dealer to get a re-alignment (needed very little adjustment). It was fun to do with a very satisfying outcome but if I had to do it again, I might just go ahead and buy springs.

I cut only my rear springs (to level out the car) after taking the advice of Bucky. I have had no problems at all with the springs. The car is still perfectly level, and the ride quality is pretty much the same as stock.

Ditto what Ian said. I only cut my rears recently, but I love the look. (Even though no one else seems to notice, I certainly do.) I grin every time I look at it.

I cut some vert springs I got from ebay, and put them on my coupe. Just to see if I would like it or not. Many people said that the spring rates were too different. I on the other hand really like it. I've had them about a month now. I love the look and the ride. It rides very smooth on the road, handles the turns alot better, improved the stance, and I haven't had any problems.

How much did you cut and did you end up having to replace the panhard or anything to realign it? I've already purchased the SPC camber bolts in case I have to adjust, and the Panhard is on order. Might be overkill, but I'd like to know what you've done. I cut 1 coil on front and 1.5 coils on the rear...I like the forward rake.

I've had mine cut for some time now. I couldn't be happier. I bought a set off Ebay for $40.00 and cut those, just in case I didn't like it, but I'm glad I did. My dad bought a '06 V-6 Pony Package last June. I did the same thing with his, and he agrees that this is the way to do it.

Here's a side view with the springs cut.

I cut 1 coil in the front and 2 in the rear. It left the rear about a 1/4" higher than the front, which was fine with me. The front dropped a little more than 3/4". I didn't have to do anything for camber or caster, just had a to adjust toe. I plan to eventually get the adjustable panhard bar, but I haven't noticed any big issues, it wasn't necessary.

Nice Camera! Either that or you live in the land of OZ! Great looking car, I'm glad you're happy with the mod, and your write up was top notch, it's already printed and waiting for the right weekend to drop the springs!
