it's been a while since i used my x-cal2 and today i decided to install the 87 perf tune. my question, does the tuner show you on the display that it is installing the tune or just that the tune loading is succesfull. my car cuts off after i installed/re-install but starts right away and will run but cant jump on the gas or it will cut off like it's choking. any help or comment is appreciated

The Xcal 2 can't tell you what tune is in. Is the 87 tune the same as your current tune just adjusted to run on 87 octane? If you have mods that are for the current tune and not done for the 87 then you need to have it adjusted for a 87 tune.

 

it's a custom tune that i bought a while back but never installed. i installed the 93 tune and with gas prices i thought i'd go with the custom 87 perf tune that i loaded in it. what im wondering about is, when you select the tune the device shows that it is downloading the other tune but it does not tell you if the tune you want to load is loaded at the same time that it is downloading what's in the ecu. at the end of the process it just tells you that it's a success. is this what it does normally?

 

My Xcal2 displays the percentage saved from the ECU and the percentage of the new tune loaded as they are being up/downloaded. It also displays success or failure in both instances. It will not show you which tune is currently loaded.
