Custom header-back exhausts

Does anyone have any experience with these? To cut back costs a bit, I was thinking of running a header back (Hooker LTs), O/R H-pipe, custom exhaust 2.5" (non-mandrel bent), with flowmasters and 4" tips.

Now, I know this won't be most beneficial for power gains and whatnot, but I know a good (retired) exhaust specialist that would hook me up with a great price and great job. I think it would sound great, also.

Any thoughts, tips, comments about this set-up?

Im not really sure what you're asking for..Kinda seems like you've got it figured out - Make sure you get some clips up when you are done.

The factory exhaust is mandrel bent 2 1/2". More than enough for a 281 cubic inch motor. I am not sure why you'd want to replace it with a non mandrel bent system even if it is bigger the 281 just doesn't need bigger pipes.

Thanks guys. I know the mustang comes with mandrel 2.5" piping, but I want to replace the X with a custom H to save a few bills. This is what I'll be doing now.

Thanks again for the input.
