Don, killer write up. The KB looks like it slimmer then the rest in terms of under the hood clearance. It looks like it actually sits lower then the stock manifold.

 

I had a 94 Supra single turbo. I ran my air filter in the same location as yours for a while to isolate it from underhood heat. The problem was I was basically vacuuming the road as I drove as the filter would get very dirty very quickly.

 

so thats why your shaker sits so high.....

I took delivery of my 06 GT with the Saleen Series VI already installed by Saleen in Troy MI.

I lived with the stock tune and setup for a while and then went with JDM's Stage 1 kit (basically) but running the stock 4 inch pulley - I bought the JDM airbox, 39 lb injectors, Lightning MAF and their tune. Car ran great.

Later had the chance to buy the 3.6 inch pulley from a local and grabbed it. Also got the Saleen Extreme intake tube from JDM to replace the stock tube.

Ran it with same JDM tune for a bit - then went to VMP Tuning in Debary Florida and had Justin custom tune my stang.

Final results were 440 hp and 421 trq

The Saleen really is fairly quiet - I have been around both Gary's (GPstang06) and Mustangshadow's Roushcharged stangs and yeah those Eatons SING, man.

It definitely drives like a normal stang till you put your foot in it.

Dropping to third and hammering it on the open highway is an absolute blast
