computer code
You can find the number on a white sticker on the SIDE of the fuse box (sort of) under the hood.
If you stand facing the car with the hood open, it's left of center. It's a black box about 2.5" wide by like 8-10" long. Look all around this box for a white sticker printed with a code (a few letters and a number, most likely). For example, mine is DUR3 for a V6 automatic. Seems like the sticker was on a side "facing" the center of the car.
