This is out of my area of knowledge, as I was under the impression it would have slid down into the oil pan, but have been told it would go to the oil galley first. Hell I didn't even know what an oil galley was. lol

The only good news...the area of concern is fixed after getting another keeper.
You really... really want to find that keeper. If and I say if it went all the way to the oil pan that would be the best thing that could happen. Chances are it will lay there and you would have a chance and getting it out safely. There is a screen on the oil pickup so it can't get sucked up. But if it didn't make it all the way to the pan is what I would be concerned about. It could block the oil flow back to the pan or worst to a critical area of the engine like a bearing depending on where it ends up. And I think you know what happens then. So you really don't know where it went for sure???

Hey Colby...first off great to talk to you again today!!!! Next..I can't believe your luck my friend. You have done everything right for months trying to fix your issue only to take it up the back side once again. I thought my luck was the worse on the planet but I think I've meet the guy that can one up me!!! Don't worry some how we are going to get you thru this!!!

You too Scott...

So I talked with Brett yesterday morning also. The same thing happened to him twice and he found the best remedy twice. He bought an eraser board size magnet from harbor freight, jacked the car up and slid the magnet from end to end on the oil pan and found it that way both times.

Sooo Saturday morning when I get off work, I will be going to get a magnet and trying that. Second thing he said to try if that fails is to get 3ft of piano wire (aka hobby wire) and slide it down the oil galley holes and try to push it down, then re-try the magnet.

Last but not least, he said what I planned on doing 1st...raise the motor, pull the pan and check from underneath.

I gotta exhaust all possibilities, before I button this thing up. In the meantime I am having my valve covers powder coated. might as well get some satisfaction out of this f'ng mess.

Keep us up to date on how it goes. What color are you going to powder coat the valve covers? I am working on a set for my car also. I am going to paint them Ford Blue.

Yeah I was thinking it could be partially down a drain hole and not all the way to the pan. Guitar strings would work too.

I assume Brett's magnet trick is with the oil drained so the magnet can freely move the keeper to the drain hole?

The painted covers will be great! Turning lemons into lemonaide, right? LOL

Only luck I have had is having the entire family sick since last Saturday. Jenny got sick Saturday, held on to it until Monday, then Ashton got sick, which I followed up with on Wednesday and just not feeling better..

Going to dig around tonight, then replace the other 2 seals Sunday, since the first one only had a knick. If the other 2 seals aren't bad, then it looks like it will be torn down even more. My luck is that it would be some other seal.

Dude...save your money and don't play the lottery. You have no chance of winning with the way your luck has been going.

Okay so we swapped out all 3 valve seals now and NOTTTTTTA hole/tear in one. Only thought...scratch that..One of the thoughts is still that it was a possibility that the valve spring wasn't seated property after the initial torque of the cam...meaning, they torqued the cam from rear to front, instead of center out, causing too much torque on the rear spring, etc, etc...A THEORY I should say...

Only other thought was a bend valve guide, but multiple people have said my compression would have been junk on that cyclinder.

Soooooooooo my plan now...Button it back up, clean up the plugs, new oil and try to get as many miles on it before it becomes real nasty out..Then pull the plugs, check the oil level and see if Ive used oil or have a wet plug.

Hell I might as well re-check the compression also.

This will happen after I yank the pan and find the missing keeper.

I don't know what to say Colby. You have done everything correctly all the way through this whole ordeal and to come up without finding the problem is just not right. We can hope that it just won't use the oil it did before all of this. I for one am out of ideas of what could be causing your engine to use so much oil.

There is a god folks. After countless hours of searching, I finally decided to lift the motor and pull the pan. The good news... That lil sunofa valve stem keeper was resting on the bottom of the pan. After seeing the inside there is no way the other methods would have worked.

Long story short, this was the best day of my life, second to the birth of my son ofcourse. lil
