Which combo should I go for my suspension?

I've been dicking around for a while on dropping my car and now I have the cash. I'm looking for more than just springs and this is what I have so far.

1.Eibach Pro system-Pro Damper and Pro Kit http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.exe/0457.2.1193630481800000967
2.H&R Coil-over kit http://stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=967
3.D-spec adjustable shocks w/ Eibach Pro Kit.

What I'm wondering is how will the ride be with either 1,2,3 or any other combos you guys can recommened. I'm also gonna still be running 18inch rims.

All 3 of those options are pretty agressive drops in ride height. Are you prepared to make the neccessary additional changes to correct all of the suspension geometry?

I have to vote for numba 2 nothing like setting it up the exact height you want it to be. That is up to a 2 inch drop. IMO most spring kits are a little off from exactly what I wanted as far as drop and rake.

I met someone who has the sportline springs on stock shocks and needed nothing else. I don't plan on lowering it 2inch, but maybe 1.5

Do it once and do it right:
Steeda Sport Springs
Tokico D-Specs
Adj. Panhard Bar
HD Panhard Brace
Steeda Upper Strut Mounts

I am of course biased. =]

You may just want to research a few other threads on properly adjusting the suspension geometry after dropping 1.5 - 2.0"

Would I even need a spring compressor? Or do they come together and all I would do is bolt it on.

Are you looking to use your car competitively (be it actual racing in some form, or as a show car). If your just looking to lower the car and use it as regular transportation, I'd recommend keeping things as simple as possible. Adjustability is great when the conditions warrant it, otherwise its all that much more to fine tune and maintain.

I want the feature of adjustability, so when I take my 9 hr trip to Miami I can set my car up for highway. I was gonna run just the pro kit spring but don't want my car riding like total ****.

lowering a car without an adjustable panhard bar is not the right way.

First suspension mods i did were Tokico D specs, steeda ultralights, steeda LCA, steeda adjustable panhard bar with HD brace. I love the setup, after adding an adj UCA, sways and tower bars, car handles great.

Well its the old story again when you lower the car.

a) you can not have your cake and eat it

b) lowering does not improve ride quality.

You can get away with the spring / adjustable damper kit and sway bars, but even still there are concessions here if you are not concerned about the car handling even better..

a) front roll center will have dropped, and front roll couple increased. To correct this you need to drop the lower ball joint. Steeda has a kit for this.

b) off the showroom floor you only have about 3" of suspension bump travel. Lowering 1.5" will reduce the bump travel 50%. The stiffer springs help to cope with this. Trimming the bump stops can help a little, but that does compromise their ability to absorb the shock.

c) lateral rear axle position will very likely be off center, An adjustable panhard bar is necessary to correct that.

d) The rear axle 3-link geometry will have an instant center that is too low (it already is out the showroom floor, now it will be worse)

e) at 1.5" drop you are getting close it not there of needing to correct the the rear pinion angle. You will need adjustable upper and/or lower control arms to correct pinion angle.

f) after all the above a bump steer kit might be of some value.

ANY lowering will require a front end alignment. Nobody seems to mention this when posting. You will need either upper mounts or camber bolts. If you plan to track or abuse the car you need the mounts.

Pinion angle on our 06 Vert was in factory spec after installing the Eibach Pro-Kit, so no UCA or LCAs were required.

As with any modification, go with a company that supports ALL your needs. If you use Eibach or Steeda you will get a full range of products that will allow you to accomplish your goals. There are trade-offs between handling and ride comfort, so be honest with yourself about how you use the car before you buy anything.
