Cold air intakes and 85mm-90mm MAFS?

I'm looking at Cold air intakes and I see 85mm MAFS and 90MM. Will it make a big difference if I go for the 85MM instead of the 90MM? This will likely be my biggest mod. I'm going to get this Cold air with a tuner. This is on a 08 GT.

Also i'm pulling my hair out trying to decide between a SCT tuner and a Diablo sport. The biggest plus for me looks like the SCT doesn't need a USB adapter to up load tunes. The D sport need that 30$$ adapter. Am I missing something? I don't know... so many choices. I found a 90mm Ford racing cold air and a Diablo for $499. Seems like a good deal. But then I find ford racing 85mm cold air with a SCT X3 for $599 from AM. That includes lifetime Tunes from Bamma. Thats got to be a big selling point right? I mean are tunes just "tunes" or are their ****ty tuners? Thanks guys

I had a diablo sport tuner on my 07 gt. I changed to an sct tuner due to the fact that i couldnt find anybody around me that would tune my car with the diablo tuner. As for the 85 or 90 mm question i cant help u with that. I dont think it really makes a difference unless you are planning on adding a supercharger or turbo or something like that.

I also had diablo and switched to sct because it seems that alot of the tuning companies use sct. They both pretty much do the same things from my experience.

Most tuners out there use SCT software, which means they can only make tunes for SCT handhelds. So that would be your best bet. There are for sure crappy tuners out there. American muscle has a good tuner and good cai/sct handheld packages and free tune upgrades for life. tillmanspeed or brooksspeed are also great.

If I was just getting into it again, I would most likely pick one of the packages from american muscle. It would be a c&l or JLT one.

2kanchoo have you seen a JLT in person? The best price packages for a tuner and cold air i have seen was a SCT and JLT for 499. That looks like a great price but the JLT intake kinda looks cheap from the picks. I really like the "bucket" on the FRP intake. Any one out there have a JLT and can give us a little info on the build quality? And anyone with the JLT know the MM on the MAF housing?

SCT tuner and the Ford Racing CAI gets my vote as that was my combo as well. I had great results with the BAMA tunes as well. I hope that helps.

Just to throw it out there, BAMA makes tunes for Diablo as well. I have the BAMA 91torque tune and love it. Also if you go to the Diablo website, they have some info on good tuners that program on the Predator platform(in the forums section). But as the others have said, most tuners use the SCT software. Both tuners do pretty much the same things though, its kinda like having a Mac or PC. Good luck in your choice.
