CMVC delete plates dynotested....

Hey guys,

First off I have to say thanks to Andy that gave me these plates back in November and I've just now gotten the time to install them. Well, had my guy here install them and I went out when they were finished and tuned it.

Finally, the results I've gotten from them were 6rwhp and nearly 10 rwtq overall but in the mid range gains of 7-9 rwhp and 8-10 rwtq from 3000 rpm's and up. At the time for $85 they were a very worthwhile investment, now I think you can get them for around $150 still ?

I drove it and it is truly hard to say if I could feel any difference at all, I could say that It didn't loose any bottom end power to speak of which was what I was expecting. All in all I would say they are a decent investment in the world of $250+ for 20rwhp 6-10rwhp for $100 is worth the money.

Thanks, Doug.

Doug did you notice any part-throttle sluggishness?

i had very similiar results Doug. 6-7 under the curve at all times for HP and tq from 2k to 6.5k. Peaked about 12hp and 13tq, not bad for $200 (before Ford started selling them).

There was a thread on here where a member said he heard the 2008s wouldn't have the CMVC plates.

After installing my plates, I thought the response was better than before.

150$ i assume is referring to the steeda economy plates? What in the world is so special about the 300 dollar plates from steeda?

The expensive ones are CNC machined billet and I believe the economy ones are the factory plates with the valves removed. Since they didn't give me mine back when I had theirs installed , they're probably selling mine ...

Nice numbers. If they were still available at the sub-$100 price point, I wouldn't even have to think about ordering a set.

I ordered a set today (after reading this) for $149 shipped from Lethal Performance. I'll be getting new updated tunes from Doug once they get here.

What exactly are CMCV delete plates and what do they do?
How do they help the car's performance? And is the install easy, DIY?

Sorry, newbie here.

Doug:

Did you custom-program a tune for the CMCV delete plates or was this using one of your standard BamaChips tunes?
