clutch pack fix monday maybe gears while there?

hey yall i am getting the whine fixed monday. they are putting the new clutch pack in and they said they could put 4:10's in for around 100 to 150 for the install. Is it worth it. i was saving for the jlt+ tune from brenspeed so what is the best thing to do here in everyone's opinion. compare performance between the two? i drive 80% hwy 70mph. should i keep saving or is the 4:10's really that big of an approvemnet or is the jlt+tune the better of the two? If getting gears, where is the best cheapest place to get and i know to get the ford racing and not motive (right)? i have heard both that they whine and they dont. they are like 100$less i think though. the dealer said that my extended warranty i have 100,000 5 years will cover anything in car so if something goes wrong they should fix it.

I did this when I had my gears done

I vote for replacing the whole differential with a detroit trutrac (31 spline) to get rid of the clutches altogether. I wish I had done this when my gears were done. After 40k miles my clutch packs and T-lock are toast and I have to replace them. I wish I had shelled out the 400 for the trutrac in the beginning because now it's going to cost me another install, gears, install kit, oil, labor, etc

IMO, the question is: are you going to be doing both mods in the future?

If you're only doing one mod, keep saving for the JLT.

1. JLT will improve MPG, gears will lower it.
2. MUCH less chance of things going wrong with the JLT than the gears, dealer install or not.
3. JLT will get rid of throttle lag, make car sound better, and make car go faster than gears alone.
4. Can show off the JLT, can't say hey check out my gears.
5. If you plan on getting a new diff cover, that's more money that could've gone toward the JLT.

If you plan on doing both mods, however, do the gears now and save yourself some time and money down the road.
