Clutch hop
Tried to search to no avail. Anyone have a little clutch hop in their cars? I've driven the car hard, but I didn't think it was that hard. The last third ofthe clutch pedal coming out with slight throttle gives a little shudder. Have I warped my flywheel?
Thoughts anyone?
Thoughts anyone?
Mine does it sometimes too. I haven't driven mine hard and think it might be either the Traction Control System or just from sitting too long. Any Ideas anybody? Kinda got me concerned too.
Sounds like classic "clutch chatter" to me. Sometimes it goes away on its own,
and sometimes you need a new clutch and/or resurfaced flywheel to get rid of it. :notnice: This is rarely covered by the warrenty, as it usually results from "abuse".

I can not keep my foot out of the car. Between the exhaust and seat pushing me in the back....I can't stop!!!!!!! It's a sickness I tell you!
Thanks for the replies!
If it's only when you have TC on, it's likely just the TC kicking in!
TC isn't smooth on this Mustang, it's a on/off all or nothing setup. You feel it through the clutch, and the seat of your pants, and you can hear it, but it's simply the power shutting down and back on again really quickly. It feels like violent clutch chatter, but it's not. Your clutch isn't on the computer, and isn't going to chatter or slip differently with different computer settings.
If it's NOT related to TC (in other words, turn of TC and it still occurs), then you have something else going on.
If it happens some times and not others, I might suggest that your driving styles (like mine) vary over the course of a day. Sometimes you hit it a bit harder than others.
