I'm looking at using the Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch Part # 611679 and the 12 Lb. Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel Part # 186551. This is the same flywheel as the Steeda Part # 257-186551.

I have heard that some people needed to shim their throwout bearings to get the clutch to fully release.
Justin Burcham said that he needed to shim his but I think he was using a 10.5" and not the one designed for the 05.

Has anyone used this exact combination on an 05 Mustang GT with stock transmission and throwout bearing?
Has anyone else tried a different Dual Friction Clutch and Aluminum Flywheel combination?
How do you like it?
How streetable is this combination?

I'd get ahold of centerforce, word is that many racers are having good luck with their new DFX clutches and flywheel. Try and find out if they are a direct replacement... shimming shouldn't need to happen.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Centerforce® is proud to announce the addition of their aircraft quality aluminum flywheel for the 2005 Ford Mustang GT (part number 900210). For maximum clutch holding capacity and heat dissipation, Centerforce designed this new flywheel based on the original equipment clutch size of 11†– instead of the commonly used 10-1/2â€. When coupled with the Centerforce 11†Dual-Friction clutch set (part number DF611679), customers will enjoy smooth street drive-ability as well as substantial performance gains. For high-end performance street and race use, Centerforce will soon offer their hot new DFX series clutch. For more information, please contact any Centerforce dealer or Centerforce directly with questions at (928) 771-8422 or visit them online at www.centerforce.com. [/b][/quote]

another option is Spec. That is all I have ever used and the stg 3+ with aluminum flywheel is what im using in the '05. It holds great and is rated to 600 hp. I launch at 6k rpm on nitrous at the track on slicks and it never budges. great street manners and I can get the whole setup shipped for $800. It also does not need any shims and install is very straightforward.
