Hey all. I went out today at lunch to Barnes & Noble and they had the issue. I didn't buy it because in the article it says the complete list of all the dyno results can be found on their website, www.50mustangandsuperfords.com. Well, I checked the website when I got back to my office and I couldn't find it.

To answer about the WMS: it was part of the group and they had some good quotes from Shannon. Basically the magazine testers deducted points from it b/c the install was more involved than vs. the C&L and others which are pretty much bolt and go. However, they did say they loved the design and that it was of superior quality. They also said if this can be mated to a ram-air hood which would be situated directly over the filter then this would be the ULTIMATE CAI for the '05 Mustang. Their dyno #s validated Shannon's #s from his website as I believe they were able to get even higher results!

Anyone got any new info on this? Like maybe what numbers each put out, or the magazine's rankings? This is good info!

I'd buy it if any of the places here actually had it. The Barnes and Nobles here still has 5.0 magazine from 3 months ago.

Thanks S, good to be back

Ron, I think the scanning/posting would violate TMS' copyright infringement?

I figured out why it is not on www.50mustangandsuperfords.com. The issue is January's and on the site they have "this month" as December. I think the stores that are selling the Jan issue are accidently giving people early access to it. The December issue says display until end of November I think? Once that date passes then we will be able to see all the #s on the website.

Why? Have you done some detailed testing of these kits on your own?

Jay,
I thought you said there was no difference in performance between the series-I and series-II units? Are you saying there is? Just a series-I owner trying to decide if the upgrade is worth it, looks aside.

Ok, and this means what?

You made a remark and I'm asking for some backing.
If you have tested kits and have something to add then lets hear it.
If not what were you trying to imply?

There is no performance difference in JLT pipes, none needed, we were the top HP & TQ producer of the 11 kits tested.

Only difference is they tested a very early production kit and made comment to the plastic and fliter issue. If they had a new Series II with the billett MAF or even a JLT with the insert, points would have been higher in the longevity section resulting in a closer or better over all score. Meaning JLT may have done better then #2 over all.

Just making a serious comment, but I see some still feel the need to make unneeded and un backed comments. Oh well, the internet is fun.

I don't know why it is so hard to get an answer to the simple question of listing the one through how many they tested. One would think knowledgeable poster would post this. Sad!

Jay,

I am not knocking your product. I knew at the time of the testing and bet with the author that yours would have the most HP/TQ due too the inlet size of the pipe. You stated that " I bet if they tested your series II then you would be #1 overall." I merely stated that I wouldn't be so sure if yours would be #1 overall vs. your competitions newer designs based upon the results on my car. As you know, the magazines have a lag time of roughly 3 months and the information is too be kept quiet until press time. Congrats on being the most powerful CAI in the test.

Jay, I just placed an order for your pipe (painted Windviel Blue), before I heard about this article. I've been on the fence a while.

I went with JLT because:
1) Looks great painted. (I have a painted engine plenum cover too)
2) Performs better than most CAIs and I plan to get a tune.
3) Your Series II design has improved the looks and reliability. (I build airplanes for a living)
4) You formed a partnership with other tuners. (I plan to buy a tune from Doug at BamaChips)

Just thought you should know what moved a customer off the fence to your product.

Greg

OK, that's what I thought. Still on the fence about doing the upgrade to the series-II. It sure does look nicer!
