check engine light!

check engine light!

My check engine light came on last night. So tonight I plugged in my sct2 to check for codes. It showed 1 code . Code #p0456 evap control sys small leak. Anybody know what I should look for?

Try removing your gas cap and putting it back on, then clear the code and see if it comes back. The gas cap is the most likely cause, especially on a newer car. It's not likely that you have any holes in your EVAP system.

Thats happened to me on 2 different occasions (same code)....I have a locking Ford gas cap. I've cleared it twice and it doesn't come back. I'm pretty sure mine has to do with my gas cap as well.

It's actually happened on my Magnum before. It was after picking it up from a valet. I thought they screwed up the car. I threw a fit. Them some woman told me it happened to her before, so I tried it. Yup. That was the problem. I felt like an idiot, after making a big scene. Oh well. You live, you learn.
