I'm using the same. I've had good luck with Castrol Syntec Blends in my other cars. I do monitor the oil through Blackstone Labs just to make sure it's doing it's job and I'm not changing it to soon. I'll post the first analysis I get back from them on the Mustang. My only complaint about Castrol is it's not much cheaper than Mobil 1 full sythetic here in the US.

You wont find Amsoil at chain stores like that. Pep Boys, CSK and Autozone all say no to the best oil on earth. You'll have to call around or you can get it from me since Im an official reseller of the Amsoil product line. :P

so beyond extended life, whats the bennifits of using synthetic? I have heard it can shrivel or dry up seals on new, unbroken in cars. I found a page somewhere on the net that showed pretty much all oils work just as well as any other. Some have more or less ash ect. but basically do the same job just as well.

I've put synthetics in motorcycles before and saw a noticeable drop in operating temperature, and have felt less "engine braking" drag and faster revving when put in some cars. Just my experience, no laboratory tests or anything.

Went with Mobile 1 on Friday @ 1500 miles! Lowered my 1/4 mile ET by 1.32 seconds.
