I guess a good place to start is to pull the spark plugs and take a look. Just be careful when taking the plugs out. How many miles on the car? Original plugs?

Save yourself the headache and the expense of chasing red herrings and throwing parts at it.

Get a code reader or take it to a place that can (some parts stores even do it for free). If the CEL was flashing then is should have set a code.

He already read the code.
Did you not see he said it was a misfire on cylinder 5?

Best thing to do is wait to see if it comes back.
If the CEL comes back take it to the shop so they can run a KOE or KOER test on it.
They will hook it up and tell what is going on.
They should also be able to take the "snapshot" these computers often take to see what was going on at the time
of the CEL.

At least it is telling you which cylinder is misfiring lol.
I have been chasing a random misfire code for months and after testing AND replacing plugs 3 times
we have narrowed it down to a problem with my tune. I also have a hunting idle. Both have been happening
since my Hot Rod cams were installed and it seems these cars can throw the random misfire code often with
these cams if the tune is not adjusted right on certain perameters.
Going to the tuner at the first of the year to have the tune redone.

Lol I know, for some reason i missed the one sentence when I read it -- I'm on a few car boards and it's a pet peeve when people post asking for help and not check the codes first and everyone chimes in with well meaning suggestions that just end up costing the OP more money.

Please excuse my OCD lol

Yeah replacing the plugs and either putting one piece plugs in or putting anti seize on them will prevent the headache of plugs breaking off into your cylinder head.

Read the TSB for removing spark plugs on these cars
