Car/Motor Buildup in Progress
Car/Motor Buildup in Progress
Well i figured i would update everyone with the latest happenings on this long overdue project. Lets jsut say issues arose, i gave up my spot both for the motor build and the motor install because it was the right thing to do for the situations the people i gave my spots up to were in. Hell i even gave up my Block, Pistons, rods, and Crank LOL.
Anyway The car is currently at Piedmont Modular Performance in Salisbury, NC in the capable hands of Josh and Kevin. Larry delivered the motor about 2 weeks ago and Steeda (FINALLY) shipped the transmission after ordering it back in August. We are waiting for the TR6060 to be fully disassembled (it hasn't even had fluid in it yet haha) so the gears can be removed and polished. Then the entire Transmission will be Cryo Treated to improve the strength. Once reassembled and delivered back to PMP, The engine will go in along with a whole mess of other parts.

The nice thing about this motor is, I am not using one single part off of my stock motor. It was built completely independent of it to minimize downtime, and so that i can keep the stock motor, sell it, tear it apart and rebuild it, or whatever i want to do with it as it is a complete longblock. I Will also have the stock transmission as well. I may get that sent out to Promotion and have it refreshed and upgraded and sell it.
We are planning on running 20psi of boost through the 2.4L KB and having the Ny-Trex system not only cool the intake charge in addition to the ability to run ice in the 7 gallon tank in the trunk, but to boost the HP and torque output a bit.
That shoudl about cover it for the moment. All parts are paid for. Basically waiting for the transmission to be finished and then the engine goes in and gets tuned. Since i live in NY im in no rush to pick it up (**** winter) so they can take as much time as they want now haha.
