Well, I forgot with 530 lbs of torque and 450ish in hp. I would think a chirp in 3rd would be a piece of cake. Sorry I ever doubted you. Don, please forgive me.

Scott

P.S. While I can get a pretty good chirp out of 2nd with my auto. Ahe just hooks and goes in 3rd.

Before the blower, mine would kick loose on the 1-2 shift and bark the 2-3. And on occasion it would chirp the 3-4. That was with just a CAI, Doug's tune and 4.10s... nothing else.

Now, it doesn't chirp at all. I can make it just spin all the way into 4th if I want. I laid down a rubber mark about 200-300 feet long the other day. haha.

You know that with the stock HP, the 4:10's were an advantage. With your new found HP and TORQUE they may acutally be a disadvantage. They may just slow your 60 ft. and 1/8 times due to all the spinning. That is exactly what happened with my 96 Cobra. Stock it ran about a 13.8 on stock tires @ 101 in the 1/4. After the Kennebell SC'er and at 6 lbs of boost on the same tires, my 1st run was a 15.1 @ 110 mph.
At that time I was running 3.73 gears and that car would not hook at all.
As I am sure you will find out and all ready know it is NOT the HP you put out it is how you put it to the ground. Good luck Don.

Obviously, I won't be running street tires at the track... I haven't done that in almost a year. But, I guess we'll see soon enough how the 275/60-15 Mickey Thompson DRs hook (or don't). They have some serious sidewall on them. I've already mentioned in a previous post that I may look to switch to a different gear ratio if I need to, but I won't make that decision until I've been to the track (next weekend).

Met up with another '05 mustang GT driver at the track 2-nite. He's running MT Drag Radials and has the same problem I do with M&H, drop clutch low and bog, drop higher and spin. He's picking up the ET Street with wrinkle wall and I'll be monitoring his progress closely.

whats the point, expecting a change with a non wrinkle wall tire, it will hook better and will still likely bog.

I took the drag radials out on the street over the weekend. On dry bare asphalt I can launch over 3k with minimal chirp and minimal bog. On concrete coated in rubber I can launch at 2500(ish) and spin or 2000 and bog. I suppose the trick is to find the right tire for the surface.
