CAI on stock engine?

After doing a search and reading countless threads on the topic and becoming really confused Do you think there's any worthwhile benefit to putting a CAI on a stock Mustang??? I have no plans on getting a tune..yet, maybe in the future.
Thanks

You can get 10-15 hp without a tune by installing a C&L CAI with the "No Tune" insert. Afterwards, you can remove the insert when you decide to install a tune.

Car will breathe better. Then.........you'll want it to exhale better..............then............function better (tune).

With the CAI, if you're not ready for a tune, make sure the one you pick, will perform properly without it.

For some CAI kits a tune is required...otherwise you will have a problem with the check engine light coming on as the car's normal computer will not recognize the CAI. A tune will remap the computer and eliminate the check engine light code. Your mustang will breath easier with the CAI...mine actually whistles while it works.

+1 what he said. I've been running the C&L Street with the no-tune insert for the last 3 months. I immediately noticed a performance boost with the butt dyno. I can also confirm it really woke up my Flowmasters...measured by the increased number of heads that turn when I get on it. Plan on getting a tune, but not right now. Real happy with the setup.. easy install... looks good... sounds good... feels good... it's all good.

I'm sure there going to be a lot of disagreement with me here...
I installed the C&L CAI with no tune insert and FRPP GTA axle back and my A$$ DYNO says it's a completely new car. I have no doubt at all it's far better with tune on top of that, but i'm definitely not complaining right now. I was literally SHOCKED how much harder the car pulls in 4th gear for example. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend the C&L Street kit with no tune for anyone not yet ready to tune the car.

You guys are all right, you will feel a difference with the CAI only.....however....I would like to see how dangerously lean you are running also. Sorry but I would never run any CAI, whether it is tuneless or not, without a tune.

Doug (B@maChips) dyno'd a number a cars last fall with the C&L Street no-tune insert. All came in @ a safe 13:1 through the curve. C&L also did extensive a/f testing with safe results. I personally have not dyno'd it... but feel pretty safe seeing the results from those 2 sources.

Been running my C&L with the no tune insert for about a week now, and my wideband is saying that at WOT I am always between 12.9 and 13.1. The G-tech estimates a gain of about 14 RWHP... but then again, I trust the G-tech about as far as I can throw a battleship with one finger.

Thank you very much for your help everyone. The leanness issue I had read about as well and just added to my confusion. When I read about the C&L with the no tune insert (and the testing) I started thinking this might be the one, but was still unsure how beneficial it would be in a stock untuned engine. You've given me the answers I needed (and hoped for) I know what my next purchase will be...just don't tell my wife
