CAI sound question
#21
I bought a Steeda before they had the ungraded inlet elbow available. I was happy with the original set up - then I added the elbow pipe and it added a little zip/pedal response. Whatever system you get, go the extra mile and get one needs a tune. Do it right the first time unless you plan to s/c later. You won't be sorry. The nice thing about Steeda is that they have a relationship with Ford.

I don't know if it is the sound of the intake combining with the sound of the exhaust or what but, my car seems to sound deeper with it. The SLP loudmouths are loud enough to drown out pretty much any of the sucking sound I noticed from intakes in the past but after putting it on my Mustang it seems to set off alarms easier and set off cars further away.
It definately sounds meaner but like I said I don't know if it's only the exhaust or the combination of underhood sound with the exhaust. It sounds almost like some sort of animal growling if I tap the gas pedal, especially when I'm under an overpass or in a garage.
