Exhaust improvement of 2005 GT

Hi,

had some discussions about improvement of the sound of my 2005 GT.

I am careening which product to buy!!!!

Loudmouth or Borla

What are your experiences??

Had some informations about Loudmouth that I will missing some hp
because of loosing back pressure in the exhaust system.

Is that right??????

Looking for your opinions.

Wolfgang

The slp loudmouth's were my second exhaust. They were pretty loud but did not have that deep aggressive tone, I wasn't that satisfied with them. I now have the frpp/stingers and I absloutely love the sound and could not be more satisfied. I would say 100% borla's, the mac system sound's pretty good to.

Dude, depends on what you like. Flowmasters give you a nice mellow but old school sound.

I honestly don't see how the SLP's could possibly lose any HP over any other straight through exhaust, but there is at least one guy who said he has dyno results to prove it. Ofcourse no two dyno's will ever be identicle and so many factors can cause positive or negative results, I wouldn't buy into anything under a 7-10 hp change in back to back runs.

Anyway, I love the slp's, regardless. Gave me the sound I wanted, can be a tad annoying to neighbors though. I've had nothing but compliments and even had a guy in a new Vette convertable follow me into my apartment complex to ask me what I did to make it sound so good.

Boils down to what your looking for in sound. If old school, uneditied V8 rumble is your thing, the SLP's wont dissapoint. But if your looking for a more refined mellow purr or deeper bellow, you might want to try something else.

The SLP's do resonate, drone, but it's a very narrow rpm and has to be under load. Around 2100-2300, but you can knock it down a gear to avoid it.

Good luck on finding your perfect sound.

I love my Borla/Ford Racing ones, but like the previous post you need to hear them for yourself to decide.

i got axleback flowmasters on mine and they sound pretty old school. and i know they are loud enough because every morning at 4:30am when i start her up to go to work, i wake all my neighbors up and they use my car as their alarm (they all told me this).

when i first got the exhaust itch, ebay was my first idea, and a great one at that. alot of auctions on ebaymotors actually have video or audio of the exhausts so you get some kind of idea of what ull get.

other than that u can find out by word of mouth on here or at meets. good luck with the search.

That's actually pretty funny... I had this once this past friday.
My neighbours alarm wasn't set, and he got up when he heard my exhaust
He was late, but at least he had a wakeup call

I had a neighbor in Virginia that told me he never had to set his alarm clock in the mornings. He would just wait for my to fire up the bike to go to work and knew it was time to get up. My neighborhood loved me!

I know for sure my stingers were way louder than my flow's?

I would like to see if there is a difference between the real borla stingers and the frpp/stingers.

I think it is more interesting to note, that if you look at the data carefully, there are real gains down in the lower RPM range. I actually felt this on my exhaust swaps as a slight increase in seat of the pants feel off the line. So, although you only gain a few "peak" HP or Tq, there are some gains at the low end.

I read an article that said these days, with variable valve timing and all the other fancy stuff in the newer engines... exhaust plays a lot less of a roll in performance (as in not having to scavenge/backpressure and all that crap).....

It mostly for the sound these days...

The only difference between Borla Stingers and FRPP Stingers is that the different Tip size, and the obvious FORD RACING logo embossed on the muffler rather than a BORLA logo.

And dBa is some fancy term for Decibal (Maybe Decible? IDK) Level
