Which CAI do you like best?
Tax season is helping my addiction for more mods. I am looking for a CAI system for my car. Which one is most favored. Is there one I need to stay clear of? Whose got the best deals. Thanks for help.
I vote Airaid, you can use it without a tune, and when you are ready you can get a tune and step up the power. I had MD Motorsports create a tune for mine minus the venturi, and Hit 290 RWHP with it and just some Flowmasters. PM me if interested, I know someone who can get them for a really good price.
Thanks for the help guys, I looked at the JLT II. If I went with the combo (JLT II cai and SCT II) who writes the tunes? Do they come with the combo, or do I get those from somewhere else?. I have heard alot of great things from Bamachips. They had a link on the JLT website. Is there a cost for getting another tune?..... just some random questions..... Thanks again guys....

And Doug's customer service is top notch! :worship:
Hey, anyone know what the Outerwears pre-filter number is for the C&L or JLT filter? I ask because I saw another thread about these things getting dirty and I'd like to know if anyone here making recommendations is using one.

Here's some numbers as reported by 5.0 Mustang mag.
hp/tq ()=w/ tune
AFM
+19/14 (26.6/20.2 SCT)
C&L
+25/20 (w/ Predator, I think)
JLT
+27.9/21.5 (w/ DTP, I think)
K&N
+18/297 (+21/300 SCT)
Other's tested = MAC, MMR, MRT, Powerhouse Automotive, Tunable Induction, and my favorite WMS.
WMS
+23.4/20.4
Read the article as the numbers don't tell the whole story. For example, the WMS sits on top of the core support and is subject to a lot of heat while on a dyno. When moving, the incoming air temp is nearly the same as outside.
The article also discusses Ease of Install (from experience, the WMS is signifantly more involved than the rest), Value, Appearance, Overall Quality, and Expected Durability.
Hope it helps!

With a little research on google, I found the that article. Heres the link to it http://mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/...old_air_intake/ .... If I am not supposed to put a link on here someone please pull it. I thought it made for good reading and Great info for someone like myself who is in the market for a CAI system. Thanks again ,05GT-O.C.D.

Surprised nobody has mentioned anything about MMR. They are a little on the expensive side at $350 for the CAI w/ the highflow tube. But, the tests showed a gain of 25HP. That's WITHOUT their new heatshield that wasn't out at the time of the testing. It's out now... just got mine in the mail the other day. It's $50 for the shield, and is sure to bring the gains up to near 30HP.
The best intake overall though seems to me the JLT. You definitely get the most for your money.
