CAI on brand new engine

I have 350 miles on my car. My cold air kit and tuner are sitting in my house waiting to be installed. I was thinking I wanted to put 1000-1500 miles on the car before doing the installation. Only problem is I really want to put it on and it will probably take me 6-8 weeks to get to 1500 miles. (I am really impatient)

The reason I was waiting was to make sure I did not have any warranty issues come up when the engine/car were new. That way I could get anything fixed prior to the mod.

I am just curious how many people slap these things on right away, and how many wait? FWIW Doug at BamaChips mentioned it would be a good idea to wait a little but also admitted he did not wait on his own car.

install that stuff.

"mods aren't doing you any good sitting in a box"... as one friend told me on a dyno day when I had my import.

350 miles.... sounds like long enough to me.

air intake and a tune isn't going to kill it.

Golly, I waited at least 500 mi.
As long as you put it back to stock for the dealer, it doesn't matter.
