C&L in, impressions
Yeah, I leave it in the car - and I leave it connected. I removed the OBD-ii port from the mount by sliding it out so the cable doesn't bump into my leg. I have it connected via USB to a computer permenantly. Haven't done anything interesting yet, but you can monitor all sorts of cool stuff.
I've got a custom 95 octane tune that shifts extreemly aggresively. At WOT my tires will squeal from 3rd to 4th on a perfectly dry road. TCS is off by default with this tune (as you would expect). However, even if your tune isn't very aggressive and your butts aren't sensitive enough, you should still notice the difference in the exhaust note. More air in the intake = more air coming out the back = louder exhaust.

As for that carputer, I'm dying to see pictures of that setup. I'm a computer geek myself, and would love to get a carputer in my car. I love how you can monitor different parameters live, thats very cool. Do you also use the carputer as the media center for music and video in the car? Also with a $35 usb attachement it can be a state of the art GPS navigation system. Oh and if you add a 3G modem into the carputer you can listen or watch live webstation and have super high speed access to the net for your VoIP phone.
I had the same "unimpressed" feeling after installing my C&L Racer with 93 tune. A few months later when gas was expensive, i decided to switch back to the 87 tune. At that time I noticed the difference, felt like a completely different car.
To sum it up, I did know what I got until its was gone.

I have an AEM intake and it definately made the car sound change, deeper and louder under WOT. I don't think it changed the way the exhaust sound, just adds it's own howl to the overall sound of the car. sounds really cool at WOT.
I noticed an instant change in performance (with bama tunes), granted having an automatic the shift and throttle response makes it feel like a bigger gain than it is, but there was absolutely a change in the way the car pulls. Recently, last 3-4 fill up's I dropped it down from 91 torque to 87 performance and I really don't feel like I'm missing much. Doesn't seem to be so touchy off the line but otherwise it pulls strong.

I did the same thing. After installing my CAI and tune (though I'm only using a 91 tune at the moment) I felt a small difference, at first, but not really dramatic. I was a little dissapointed. I then went and asked my wife to take the car out and told her to open it up and see if it "sounded" different to her
She had no idea that I changed the tune and put in a CAI. About 15 minutes later she came back with a big smile asking what I did to the car to make it run better. She said that she couldn't tell if it sounded any different but it was alot quicker and asked what I had done to it. I was a little baffled at this, then realized that she also has a tendency to really "step on it" more so than I do. I then went out and got on it and then realized there was most definitely a difference. So it's like the others said, it's much more obvious at half to wot.
