Just saw a post about the JLT filter cleaning.
I have the C&L... can I just use the K&N filter stuff to clean it?
Could I possibly use another abbreviation in this post?

Yea, I have the mmr and I just use the K&N stuff to clean it too. Mainly cause when It was time to clean it I didn't want to wait for it to arrive in the mail. Its all the same stuff basically, it all is designed to clean filters. As long as it is'nt a dry cone filter there might be different stuff for that but not sure.

I normally do my filter cleaning like every 2-3 oil changes. depending on where you live, check your filter at the next oil change, if you can no longer see the maroon color oil, then clean it.

That's too often. K&N filters can go a lot longer than that and actually flow better when their is dirt on there. Check out K&N's website for more info. I plan on cleaning my S&B fliter at 25K.

very easy to clean---tapped out the dirt and loosened with soft bristle paint brush---applied cleaner for twenty minutes---rinsed with tap--boy oh boy---that thing filters out some serious grime! made sure to fully dry filter using fan----reapplied oil---walla! she sounds meaner this morning! ---i would recommend every 8-10K----

I have had my v6 for a little over a year, and my intake for prolly 8 months. It is a steeda, and is starting to lose its blue color. Does this mean it needs to be cleaned? My car is not a daily driver and has about 3.5k on it.
