I would realy like to know why Ford went with the two piece  There must be a reason why they would go thru all the trouble of enginering this setup.Single shaft sounds simple enough but why did Ford not do it?

Yes, BMR has a carbon fiber single piece at $1200. They are waiting on the billet yolks to arrive any day now. I just can't justify that kind of coin. I heard someone mention the 2 piece was due to exhaust clearance. I'd love to ask someone on the inside that designed these cars. Is there anyone that has access to these type of people to inquire? It would be interesting to know. I know the single piece would create more vibration. The CV joints in the driveshaft absorb quite a bit of vibration.

The was last I heard, but I'll be talking to them tomorrow about it. I need to look at the options. If it's anywhere near $1200, I'll be replacing the stock front driveshaft and reinstalling the swaybar. Too much twist in the car is what caused the driveshaft bearing to go bad. 1 pass is all it took.

I tried the Auburn Pro, and then the Detroit tru-trac. The Detroit is bullitt proof. No spider gears to worry about. It's held up to the abuse I've delivered!

I'm installing an Eaton.
I wish you two would agree.. lol

Why the Eaton instead of the Detroit (and vice versa). Also, what's the cost of the Eaton?

Here's another link http://www.tractech.com/docs/OEMTruetrac.pdf

I haven't any experience with Eaton as George has, but most guys that I've been talking to like Steeda, and some other performance shops are favoring the Tru-trac.

The Detroit does come with a disclaimer about driving on wet surfaces and how they are more "sensitive" to them. I've had mine on for a few months and it rained everyday in June without any instances nor my wife driving.
