Awesome times Mike!!! I busted the driveshaft bearing that is between both driveshafts tonight. There is a crossover or chassis tie-in just below that bearing. With every single shift, the driveshaft was slamming that crossover piece. I pulled both wheels off the ground tonight. I didn't get any pics though. I'll be sure to have a camera next time. The front left came up about 14" and the right about 4". SOOO much twist in the car. It pulled me out of the groove and almost into the center line. Honestly, it freaked me out. This was my first run on true slicks and front runner's. I shifted into 2nd early, then my CEL returned and was running rich the remainder of the way down the track. Still ran a 13.1 @ 103. I don't mean to hijack your thread. I just didn't feel this info was worthy of another thread. I admire your times with your mods!

No, I didn't even think about weighing the car. I did weigh the wheels and tires. Overall, it dropped 56 lbs. off the car. 38lbs of it was in off the front. The 28"x10.5" tires are a bit heavy, but still lighter than stock. I'm going to call a buddy that works with BMR tomorrow to see what the time frame is on single piece driveshaft. That bearing comes as part of the front driveshaft according to the service manual. This sucks!

Im starting into the drag racing craze but I dont want to start breaking things. I guess line locks should be next on my list even though I dont spin the tires that high in the rpm when in 2nd. I suppose I could spin the tires faster when the locks are installed...peace of mind.

The line locks will really reduce any stress on the rear brakes, differential and the clutch. I drop the clutch in 3rd at 5000 rpm's for burnouts. It's fun too.

They will be ordered monday.
Also,I argued with Tech Inspector about the driveshaft loop.He said I need one.i said you mean i need two In that case.If you look at our driveshaft setup there is no way in heck either shaft could fall to the ground.Exhaust and center bearing would not alow it.Also I watched Mith Busters on TV and they could barely get a car to cataulpolt even landing front of shaft into hole:geek:Not going to happen on a smooth surface like the track.

Due to my center bearing going bad, I was under the car this morning looking at what'll need to be done to change the driveshaft. I was looking to see if I could do it without removing the exhaust. I couldn't get the crossmember/tie-in out. The x-pipe would have to be removed. I'm going to see if I can slide the driveshaft in from the back of the x-pipe. There's no way the driveshaft could hit the pavement with that crossmember/tie-in or the exhaust. FRPP makes a driveshaft loop or a double one at that. WASTE! IF...I go to a single driveshaft, I will put in a loop. But I think I'll put in an OEM driveshaft and put in another swaybar and see how it holds up. I've found a carbon fiber single driveshaft, but they want $1200 for it. I just can't justify it.

Faint memory, but wasn't BMR working on a single piece aluminum drive shaft. For some reason, I thought that was well on it's way??
