Hum, I wonder if I can just mount some paper plates up to the axles once the car is on the dyno and see if they'll pass as wheels....

Well anyway, remember Darrell my car still made more power than yours with the 18" deep dish bulletts on it too. Perhaps you should try my stock 17"s??

In all seriousness though, I think I proved the point that the lighter wheels make a noticeable difference on the dyno- ~15 hp or so. I wonder how much a lightweight driveshaft makes, you have one on yours right Darrell? I would think the results would be similar.

I sold the Roush set a couple months ago! I have the GroundForce to get rid of but their 1.6 drop in the front and 1.4 in the rear! Thats to low of a rear drop if your just wanting to drop the back!! Steeda and Saleen both drop a inch in the rear and really thats to low too! the Roush rear spring work great for a rear drop, Roush only drop 3/4 of inch in the rear. Theres a couple different retailers on ebay that just sell the Roush rear springs! Pull a tape on your Vert, I know on the coups the ride hight between front and back is only 3/4 of and inch on the factory set up! If you look the picture of Toms car he posted from Stangstock I can tell he lowered his rear with Steeda's because his rear is sitting just a little lower in back!

Tom I'll show up in the spring for sure, if you run paper plates....

Yep, I used Steeda Sport springs and couldn't be happier with how it looks; ride is a tad more rough but nothing major. Remember if it's too low, you're too old LOL! My front end is stock.

If you're looking for just Roush rear springs, check www.stage3motorsports.com that's where I almost bought some. $125 with free shipping I think.

I will put a tape on her. I like the way the front sits. It's funny I have owned this car for 2 1/2 years but really noticed on Friday night when I was cleaning her up how much gap there was over the rear wheel. I never really noticed it before.

Tom, that's a nice gain with just the wheels. My car put down 451whp with my heavy *** Roush wheels (62 lbs each with tires). I want to redyno with my OEM wheels and tires, which are almost 15 lbs lighter PER wheel/tire combo. I am also thinking about a lightwieght driveshaft, which drops rotational weight by roughly 25 lbs. I figure if I dyno'd with both, I should see an addition 20-25whp.

I hear ya..... I didn't weigh my 18" aftermarket wheels but I bet they weigh easily 10lbs heavier than the stockers, each. If you do the driveshaft, let me know.

Hey Tom, I wasn't trying to dog your ride man !... I was just using it as a reference for OLDMACHDUDE... Ford set these cars with positive rake for a reason, You know its the inertia thing...to help create forward thrust of the mass movement! why do you think Ford,Roush,Saleen and Steeda all design their suspensions with positive rake! The GroundForce springs I changed even added more rake 1.6 drop front 1.4 rear! Its got nothing to do with not liking the low look, bro! its got to do with handling, ET times and whether or not you like driving up hill all the time!...

Yep! less rotational mass should translate into more HP but what you really need more! and thats torque!

Yeah, I didn't get there until about 1:30.

I also got a strong dose of carbon monoxide. They had a lot of nice cars show up even though the weather wasn't the greatest. I missed the run on the Nova and the Monte, but talked to the Nova owner a little in the parking lot. He was really disappointed with his 650+ RWHP. Geesh! If you didn't get to see the Procharger he's running on that things, it IMPRESSIVE. The head unit seemed enormous (and I mean the supercharger, let's not take it there).

Saw a cammed C6 Vette put down about 420 RWHP. That thing was quiet as hell. You could hardly hear the exhaust over the spinning dyno until it was WOT at the upper RPMs. Made some decent power though for no more than he had done to it.

Also saw a SRT4 Neon put down 394 FWHP and 450+ FWTQ. He was only running 25 psi though (ONLY!!, geesh). My computer is still calculating the number of pieces my block would be in on 25 psi of boost, the numbers should be in sometime next year.

Hope to see ya'll there in the spring. Hopefully by that time I'll have something done to mine worthy of making another dyno run.

No offense taken, I know what you were saying. I however don't like the rake on these cars; I can't see how it would help handling either since the front end dives enough when braking.
