breathers/catch can installed

Just had the breathers and catch can installed. Hopefully the breathers on the valve covers will eliminate any pressure problems. The catch can is to catch the small amount of transmission fluid that comes out of the blow off valve when I romp on it. It has a small breather on it as well. Any of you all with autos that are going with a supercharger are going to need this. This particular one is from Jeggs.

Question about your trans. catch can:

Why didn't you choose a catch can with the inlet in the bottom of the can? That way when the trans purges into the can, the fluid can then run back into the trans. and the level remains constant. Looks like your catch can will have to be drained and eventually the trans topped off with fluid.

It will have to be drained from time to time. To be honest with you I just chose this one because it was small, black in color (so it didn't stand out under the hood) and the price was right. The amount of fluid that the can will catch will be maybe a tablespoon full in a years time. I'll have the fluid checked at regular intervals.

Have you checked your AFR after this?? There's tons of unmetered air going into combustion now, bypassing MAF... This is not something that I'd recommend to do.. .especially if s/c'd or turbo.

Please explain how there is "tons" of unmetered air entering after the MAF? Looks to me like he has completely/properly eliminated the PCV and capped off both ports which previously went to the PCV.

They look great. What size and brand of breathers did you use?

Hey guys.........Just revisited this post to update you on an issue. I was getting serious fumes in the car as a result of the breathers. It was almost like a bad exhaust leak. The breathers were removed and PCV stuff was put back together. No more fumes!!!!!! Now it's time for the air/oil separator. Hopefully this will be the end of this issue. Just wanted to pass along the breather issues. I now have two breathers for sale if anyone is interested.

Yeah, could have told ya that. Plus, under hard cornering, oil will poor out of the breathers.

Run a catch can on the PCV system if that's something you're that worried about.

one option is instead of running breathers, get some rubber hose that will fit over the PCV and route it down to the bottom of the car. that will rid you of the smell issue and still allow you to remove the PCV system.

bad thing is you'll have oil drips.
