Installed my Borla S type axle backs this morning. Took the stang to a friends garage that has a lift. Removal of the stock mufflers was simple , the passenger side borla muffler went in perfect , with two people I held the tip in line while my buddy impacted the clamp tight. ( we did have to really crank on the clamp to get it tight). Drivers side was a bit of a pain we broke the clamp stud trying to get it tight enough. Ended up using the stock clamp bolt and it tightened right up. With two people both tips lined up perfect so we didn't even need to loosen the mid pipes. IMO its not the clamps fault for failing its the amount of force needed to clamp the Borla axle backs onto the stock mid-pipes , the borlas are all stainless while the FRPP are aluminized steel ( don't mind my spelling ) Anyway fired up my ride and ohhhh yeahhhh......The Borla S 11750's ROCK!!!! Took the car for a nice 2 hour ride with the top dropped and they just sound SWEET!!! A little bit of drone @ 2000/2200 , but it don't bother me a bit. I had more heads turn today then ever!!! On a side note after about a 2 hour ride we pulled in to grab a bite to eat , as I started walking away from the car I heard my wife say oh poo stuffs coming out from under the car!!! I turned around and coolants spilling out from underneath the front end. Turned out it puked a small amount out of the vent cap on the over flow. Car never ran hot all day , no CEL's , it was 81 out today( the warmest weather the car has seen so far) and I was in stop and go traffic before we pulled over to eat. My guess is it was overfilled from the factory car ran fine on the way home , called my buddy and he agreed with the possible over fill. Coolant level later tonight when car was cold was dead in between the cold fill range Anyone have there car do this in warm weather??

Congrats on the exhaust they do rule... I agree.
And the drone is managable...

As for the FRPP being aluminized... i don't think so ... ( I could be wrong) but I thought they were identicle other than the tips/mufflers being labelled as ford racing.

Can anyone confirm that the metals are different? This could explain the huge price variation.

This is good explanation. I've been wondering this also. I can get a good price on the Borla's if this is the case.

frpp's are the exact same muffler with ford racing stamped instead of borla. They are not aluminized. There are other systems like jba etc you can get the aluminized cheaper models. But these are the same mufflers as the borla.

Figured.

Galaxie mentioned that a while back.

THE ONLY difference was the stamping of logo

FRPPs are stainless, not aluminized
