Blow me.
thats right! I said it.
I am in the market for a supercharger. I would like to purchase it from a vendor on this board as I appreciate very much all of the help this board has been to me and my M.A.S. (mod aquisition syndrome) afflicted brethren.
I was originally thinking twin screw roots unit, but i have heard great things about centrifugals also. any deal to be had for this dedicated tms'er?

Call Brent or Dave at Brenspeed. They don't post up the forums here advertising like other vendors- they just get the job done. They will explain the differences between both styles of blowers- you can pick the one that fits you best.

here is the only problem with the Paxton
" Paxton Automotive Corporation has announced its 3-year/36,000 mile powertrain limited warranty. This will be available as an option with complete, fully calibrated systems sold and installed in the US and Canada by a select group of Paxton installers. Please contact Paxton or your local Paxton dealer for further information. "

Don't let the twin screw guys persuade you..... just like alot of centri guys haven't had twin screws, alot of twin screws guys haven't had centris. Either style will give you plenty of output- do a little research and decide for yourself.

why? i have been reading and i think with my 4.10 gear, a set of headers, and a good clutch it should be pretty much the same either way. What is so bad about a centri? I definately want to make the right decision here, but price is also an issue. I cant pay 7000 bucks for a blower i just can't. but it seems i can get a good paxton kit for about 5000 bucks and make the same power as a twin screw. I am keeping the factory rotating assembly so i will be limited to about 9-10 lbs of boost.
if there are real big differences then what are they? have you tried both? and why do you prefer one to the other?

Johnny, unless you don't mind modding your hood, a Centri is your best bet but may require a little tweaking and cutting as well. I know first hand a Roush and Whipple don't fit under it, not sure about a Saleen or KB though. The KB looks like it might.
Either way, give Shelby Performance Parts (Scott Drake Industries) and see if they have any info. They where supposed start test fitting top mounted SC's but who knows.

From what I've read since I'll eventually get blown. Twinscrew is instant power. Centri is higher RPMS. Where do you want power? And I know you can get a Whipple system for the 5k range. Non intercooled that is which is still good for some mean power.
I think the intercooled version is in the 6k ish range. Anyone remember the website which sells the whipple kits?
Anyways, I dont think you'll be dissapointed with either system you go for. Being blown is still being blown. Money is always a factory.

I'm gonna go with the paxton 2200 with i/c. The price is right and you get great power! You can get it for 4,700 from superchargeronline and at about $800 for the install, that puts you at about 5,500 and you're blown. The whipple is my favorite and I love it but I can not spend 7k on a s/c

I just went through the same thing, trying to decide on what to buy. I recommend going to all of the manufacturer's sites and read up, and go through all of the blown posts on this board as there's a lot of good information out there. There are a lot of pros and cons with all of the units out there but you have to decide what you what. Regarding price, don't be afraid to go to Ford and haggle on a Whipple. I have a polished non I/C unit on the way with installation for $5,540.00.
