I have a few observations about POST #36 LINK:
1.) The in place and non-damaged link looks to not have the spacer or washer installed via the CHE instructions and included hardware.
2.) The kit comes with several bolts of varying lengths based on trans and engine size.
3.) CHE admits that they had some crazy torque spec in the instructions the first go.
4.) The threaded portion that is left looks stripped.
So...I'm going under my car right now to see how mine's doing after 2 days of hard driving.

After reading on the topic (here and elsewhere), I've decided to just install the Prothanes and leave the T/Ls off.

I'll have to crawl under my car and take a look. I had a curb destroy my original K-member and it was replaced with a stock piece, but well after early '05. Hmm...
However, I am also interested if these will get in the way of LTs.

I installed mine and it went on perfectly. I have OBX long tubes and there aws no clearance issue at all. 3rd gear lives in the same place at idle as it does at wide open throttle now!
