benefits of FRPP rear sway bar

I was wondering what kind of benefits if any would one get from the FRPP rear sway bar. My car is basically street driven and taken to car shows. No auto crossing or track use.

Will be lowering my car with FRPP 1.5 inch lowering springs next week. I am just waiting for my camber bolts, GT500 upper strut mounts and BMR adjustable panhard bar to come. I am running a staggered tire setup (i.e. 255 in the front with 275 in the back).

Does the upgrading the stock rear sway bar to the FRPP one help with body roll and nose diving?

Which rear bar? The 22.5mm (7/8”) one?

It will reduce body roll some and despite popular opinion the S197 does not have a lot to start with. The biggest advantage is it will correct the understeer that Ford builds into the suspension for the lowest common denominator (stupid people). The car will be far more balanced mid corner with the addition of the bar. It will want to oversteer at the limit (step out sideways) opposed to plowing the front tires like it does stock. If you are a skilled enough driver to “play” with throttle induced oversteer then you will enjoy the benefits of the bar a lot. If you are not comfortable with that or will not push the car that hard you don’t want one.

Might I suggest this instead: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...D=80&ModelID=5

22mm diameter

Hollow and much lighter than solid bars.

3-way adjustable so you can play with balance.

What shocks are you putting in with the springs? You are probably much better off getting a good spring/shock combo then messing with sways.

What do those ends bolt to?
The Steeda bar I just bought has flat ends like the stocker...

Bolts to the axle in the stock location with brackets to allow adjustment.

I get what your saying, but understeer is an inherently safer condtion since people react intuitively to it.

I got the stock ones right now....I will probably just go with what I have ordered now (i.e. FRPP springs, camber bolts, GT500 strut mounts and BMR adjustable panhard bar) and see how she rides.....and go from there.

I do drive fast and I am not too too aggressive on corners/turns.
