I was forced to change from Steeda axle-backs to Supreme GTAs on my Tungsten '06 due to an excessive drone issue. Although the GTAs are an improvement over stock, I'm not entirely happy with the sound quality.

I'm leaning toward Bassani SS or BX and would appreciate any input regarding drone.

Q. Does Bassani have more or less drone than Steeda (Borla Stingers) and if so, how much?

Also, if anyone in south Florida has Bassani, I'd appreciate being able to talk.

I have the SS Bassani Axle Backs and there is a drone, but it is not terrible. I have never had the Borlas, so I can't compare. I only notice the drone at around 55-60mph in 5th gear, which is a very small part of my daily commute, so it doesn't bother me.

Bottom line, there is drone, but I don't think it is as bad as the stingers. Awesome sound though, I love it, and everyone who hears the car loves it too.

 

I had Bassani axlebacks and xpipe for a long time. I drive on the highway for 30 minutes everyday and the drone was just getting to annoying. I went with GTA's and they are perfect with the Bassani x-pipe. I heard the GTA's on another mustang with the stock midpipe and they were a little boring.
A new midpipe may be the best solution for you.

 

Was that an off road Bassani X pipe or one with cats?

 

I'm running mine with cats.

 

To answer the question about drone between the Bassani's and the Borlas- I've had both and the Borlas def have more drone. IMO they also sound better, but more drone none-the-less.
