So then what is the difference between:

4605-5 - Muffler (304) Direct-fit (Assembly w/dual-walled 4" rolled edge polished S.S. tips)

and

BX4605-5 - Muffler (409) Direct-fit (Assembly w/4" slash-cut polished S.S. tips)

The mufflers would be easy enough to do yourself, but anybody planning to also add on the x-pipe will need to hit a muffler shop as you'll need a lift and a saw, as you have to do some cutting to make the x-pipe fit....just letting everyone know so they aren't caught by surprise....Sure is a great product and I'm glad to see others, especially my local Houston guys, getting them installed.....

4605-5 uses a higher grade of stainless steel and has the fancy double walled tips.

BX4605-5 uses a lower grade of stainless steel (same as the factory exhaust system) and has simpler tips with nothing inside.

Welding is not necessary and anyone can perform the installation with the simplest of hand tools. All you do is loosen the band clamps holding the mufflers to the exhaust system, slide the mufflers off, and install the new ones! If you want to weld them then it's your choice but it is not necessary.
I have always heard that the clamps will work but welding is the way to go. Also, any exhaust system is very hard to do yourself without a lift. Does anyone know of a place in the metro NY area that both sells and installs Bassani exhaust systems?

Both Bassani Axle-back kits and the 4605-X and BX4605-X X-pipes are emissions legal in all 50 states since they do not modify any emissions equipment on the car. In that regard they will not affect your warranty. Some dealers are REAL picky though and if they see one little aftermarket part they will refuse to touch the vehicle. Most, however, are smart enough to know that changing out the mufflers is not a big deal.

Had Bassani catback & X-pipe on my supercharged 2001 GT. Amazing sounding exhaust, but definitely pricey. When I get a new Mustang I'll probably go with JBA, SLP, or Magnaflow.

Yea, I asked my dealer when I bought the car and warrenty and they said that exhaust would not effect it but things like putting a chip in the car would. Of course, like everything they tell me I won't believe it until I see it but that is what they said.

How do you all feel about headers combined with pieces you already put on your cars, I have got those JBA headers on my mind, their sound clip is great!
