I got my SCT X-1 tune from Doug at Bamachips and I couldn't be happier
He made me a 91 octane tune for my automatic 05 GT (mods: JLT CAI, 3.73 gears).
I've tried several tunes from various places but Doug's is the best that I tried - by far.
He really knows his 05GT automatics.
The stock programming for automatic 05GT is stupid/buggy. It practically ignores your throttle pedal when you need the acceleration the most, like in passing situations. I've witnessed a 2 or 3 second delay before the car really gets going sometimes - that's not an exaggeration.
Doug's program virtually eliminated this artificial delay. It now feels like a real muscle car!!

Well, I would email Doug at bamachips@gmail.com
Based on my experience, he knows his stuff.
Ford did a real crapppy job on the stock programming for the automtics 05GTs (and perhaps 06GTs). I guess they were concerned about longevity of parts.

I am completely ignorant on the subject of chips and live in Houston Texas. I've got an auto GT and was wondering if anyone could give me a good place to get a tune or suggest a good kind of tuner. I'm not opposed to going 91 octane.
Thanks guys

I would reccomend getting some CAI kit and a tuner (SCT of Predator) with tune programs included.
That should cost roughly $600 - $700 total.
That said I reccomend somebody like Doug who knows how to tune automatics.

You can either do a member search for 'Doug904' and PM him, or you can visit www.BamaChips.com

Yes I have the 91 tune, and no it doesn't "void your warranty"... nothing can do that. I suggest you read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

I read the sema link and although the warranty would not be null and void by law, there is the possibility that this could become yet anther pain in the hiney at the dealership should a problem arise. I'm still gonna get my tune though. darn hesitation is getting on my last nerve :bang: thanks for the info Don.

know what you mean about the delay.I have had the chip reflashed about 5 times at the dealer to no avail. I want a retune but I can't afford premium gas.thinking about getting an 87 tune from diablo with a CAI and jet throttle body spacer. any thoughts??

How can you really say that you can't afford premium gas? You are driving a loaded GT conv. that was probably like 33k+. You can afford the car, so I am pretty sure you can afford the gas.
Forget the spacer and use that $100 over the course of the year for the premium fuel.
