Bama V 2 tunes
For those of you running the new V2 bama tunes. Just wondering what your RPM's go up to on your first start of the day or when your engine is cold? Mine goes up past 2k rpm's most times. I thought this was a little excessive. I really don't think it should go above 1700 or so. Thanks for the replies

They do this to essentially get the car warmed up a little faster but they're absolutely able to have this changed for you.
Shoot them a call and they'll get you set up.

That's because with your tune it probably has the rear o2 sensors turned off. You won't get the check engine light but you also won't pass emissions. I had BAMA give me 2 tunes. One for all out performance and one so I can pass emissions. About a week before I take it in I install the emissions tune and I pass no problem.

Sorry you're having trouble passing. I don't have the V2, but my emissions tune has never given me trouble. I just got inspected last week.
I'm curious what you're having to do to get inspected if it's not passing year after year?
How long are you running the emissions tune before you try to get inspected?

I'm not sure why so many people stay with BAMA for tuning. They have continued to have issues all the time with simple things. I would trust one of their tunes as far as I could throw my handheld when it was plugged in. They have never been the same since AM bought them out from Doug. Plenty of other quality tuners out there besides BAMA. With all of the issues I read about on the forums, I'm surprised they are still in business.

I'm not looking to have a lets bash AM thread at all. Kona do you have emissions testing where you are located? I just requested a new tune. 87 octane and let them know it needs to pass emissions testing. I have done this before. Fingers crossed

How long do you have before your inspection/registration expires? I try to drive on the emissions tune for a month before getting inspected. I'm sure this is longer than necessary, but it's worked for me so far.

I have no emissions testing in the area I live in.

As Sebastian asked, how long do you drive on the tune before having it inspected? There is a code in there right after it has been re-flashed that tells them that it has been, it'll go away after a while.

it expires at the end of Dec. I have actually changed it into another family members name a few times. That gives me another year and a new set of plates. They always look nice and new.

Once you get an emissions tune that keeps all sensors on, just be sure to drive it around for a *while*. The sensors need time to become "ready" and gather enough data to report.
