Its better to do the pull in 4th (direct drive) with less transmission losses.

If you were in third then the formula reads:

T = 1050 (27.2 / 2/ 12) / (3.55 x 1.32) = 253 ft-lbs

Note this is delivered torque. Engine torque will be maybe 15% higher considering driveline losses. Looks about right for a stocker.

i found a few formulas but nothing as simple as this to be honest.
so 335ft/lb!
too bad i can't tell where the peak is though.

oh the run was on 3rd gear i think

What are your experiences after mods?

The stock auto, on a dyno, will pull about 250 to 260 rwhp. Mine did before the mods.

The pull should be in 4th gear (ovrdrv off) and start a 3000rpm. At about 5200rpm you will see the torque converter unlock (indicated by a whoopty-ti-do on the graph). There are tunes available to prevent that from Bamachips and possibly a few others.

Wtih your mods you should be at about 285 +/- rwhp.

Make sure that the guy running the dyno has it set for SAE (not Standard) and that the altitude is set correctly.

There are Mustang Dyno's and Dyno-Jet Dyno's that I have used. The Mustang Dyno will give a lower result.

Whoo...i probably found ONE point...why my results are so bad...they are DIN PS not SAE PS...1 DIN PS is approx 1,15-1,2 SAE PS...so when I compare my results of 317 DIN PS to SAE PS there comes at least 365 SAE PS...now the result should be right....or what do you think?

Are the Power of 300 hp given from Ford the SAE or the DIN PS Power? I think it should be the SAE PS. right?

Ford USA advertizes in SAE HP. DIN PS is the Western Europe standard of measure. Different horses.

How much kW does a GT has? This is the same in US and EU.

Always run your car on the dyno in a 1:1 gear ratio with the torque converter locked. You can't do this on an automatic without a special tune to keep in the 1:1 gear with the TC locked for the entire run. In a manual, shift into 4th gear for the run.
