Auto Headlights

The wiring diagram shows that it could happen, start car lights on. There is a position if you turn the switch to the left, Explorers have this. It could be really easy. My explorer has a photo sensor. any one have any info.
thanks

It would be VERY easy to do.
Connect a relay to turn on the headlights that is triggered by the oil pressure switch. If you want a diagram PM me and I'll draw something up for you.

What exactly do you need? I just bought a brand new "Ford Autolamp Controller" off eBay for $9.95 + shipping. I have a wiring diagram that was included with the kit. (just arrived yesterday) If you want I can scan and PDF that instruction manual and diagram for you.

Also, TMS member "jcthorne" has the exact same kit installed and knows WAY more about it than I do! You might want to give him a shout, he knows what he is talking about.

Automatic headlights, they come on when it gets dark. A photo sensor in the dash trigers it. Had them on the last two or three cars, now at night so used to them I drive off and a few blocks down the road before I realize it. Not good. They also go off automatically when it gets light.
