Anyone use Steeda install bolt for UDPs?
Sorry, this is sort of a knock off from another post of mine, but trying to get an idea of what I should be doing (or not doing) about my Setda UDP install.
Has anyone here used the installation bolt? More specifically, did anyone notice if the thread spacing on the install bolt was thinner than the stock bolt spacing? (Steeda 12mm-1.00 vs Ford bolt 12mm-1.50)
And if so, how did you stil make it work for the install?

Thanks for the reply. Did you notice if the thread spacing was different than with the Ford bolt? I really didn't think the pulley was in enough for the factory bolt to catch, but maybe that is why the bolt popped out on me...
Oh well, back to the old post and attempting to tap the crank

I used the Steeda bolt only to get the pully on the crank, then put the stock back in. I think that's what Steeda's instructions call for. Been a couple years since I did it. I didn't notice any difference in the threads between the stock and the longer Steeda install bolt.
+1. The install bolt is only because the stock bolt is not long enough to catch threads without the pulley being most of the way onto the crank.
Oh..also, make sure your breaker bar doesn't slip when your breaking loose the bolt to take the pulley off, and end up with a hairline fracture in your finger that ends up taking 16 weeks to heal...
Thats just the voice of experience there Thread
