is anyone still buying MAC mufflers?

since many think the borlas are too loud...is anyone still buying MAC mufflers? I am looking for good sound but not too loud. The MACs look like a good stainless design plus I've liked the few sound files that i've been able to find. Does anyone else like the MAC axle backs? Do you know anything good or bad about them?

If you have sounds of your MAC axle backs (preferably with stock h pipes), please post them or let me know where to find them.

Check out the "Sound Files" section of Brenspeed's website: www.brenspeed.com

Thanks.

I personally love my MAC axle-backs. Im running them with a catted X though so i can't comment on the sound of them with a stock H, but the quality is suprisingly good for MAC. The only real complaint i have is how hard it is to get them level and have the tips in the same places. It took many hours of adjustment for me at the midpipe section and where the axle-back mates up.

For what it's worth, I thought the Mac units sounded very good in person.

If you decide to purchase, call Brent at Brenspeed and tell him you heard about them from this site- he'll probably make you a deal.

I have the MAC axlebacks and I love the sound. They are a little on the loud side and there is some drone but you will have that with all of the axlebacks except the Corsa. They are definately head turners!

if you want a chambered muffler, get a MAC, hands down. The quality both in sound and workmanship is vastly superior to flowmaster.

i've heard the MAC's in person on my buddy's car and they sound great. They've got that flowmaster sound but deeper tone and louder than flowmasters. The only thing I couldnt stand was the ear hurting drone. The drone on them is right up there next to the Borla's.

I just installed the Borla ovals today. They are perhaps not loud enough (and I was not looking for loud). I need more time to form an opinion, however.
