and see that it made over 400 hp and only ran 13.00 in 1/4? not not so special in my opinion. they say with slicks 12.7 possibly.when they added the cooler it made 450 hp. there stock gt did 13.5 in the 1/4 w/ 300 hp.figure $5-6k for superchager :notnice: it should be faster??????

I have noticed the same thing with all the tuner mustangs. they dont seem to be any faster than stock and they have between 5 and 10k in them. People here are getting into the 12s with a lot less money and fewer mods.

There's a lot more to getting down the track then just having HP. If the car was stock with just a vortech in it, I can see them having traction issues. There's also more to traction then just slicks too.
If that car has 400 hp, with the right setup, I'm sure it can get into the low 12's atleast, if not 11's. Utmost, it's all about the DRIVER!

Actually, the car was not stock. It had Eibach springs and Tokico spec D shocks/struts, neither of which would help with weight transfer. Also, larger wheels and tires are harder to turn. The trap speed was 108.5, which, if Motor Trend had used the same car for their base figures (which I'm sure they didn't), would indicate the car was putting maybe 50 to 60 more horses to the pavement. This is in line with the claims in the magazine, because that 410hp number is at the flywheel. What does this magazine article tell you? Pretty much what you would have expected...not much.

This package is obviously not sorted out yet. Give it some time, and you will see many vortech supercharged (as well as procharger supercharged and paxton supercharged) mustangs putting up some awesome numbers, as Michael Freedman is showing us.
