I want to add some sound to my car, but more importantly more power(who doesn't?). My original game plan was to go with a Mak Off-road x pipe with the stock mufflers. I figured this setup would satisfy both my needs. My dilemma came when I heard the Borla Stinger sound clips. Need some advice and persuasion!!!

Thanks for your input.....How much louder does it make the stock exhaust? I just don't want it to be too quiet. Also, did you have the SES light go on?

I got the Bassani x-pipe with the off road pipes put on yesterday. Still have stock mufflers on. It's plenty louder. I had Flowmasters on order and canceled the order. Coming home last night I was afraid the neighbors were gonna report me. You also get the "cackle" when the revs come down from high rpm.

I didn't get a performance gain from them, but it could be tune issues as is usual for me and my 05. No engine lights either and I made two 1/8 mile runs at the track last night.

The cats are definately what's muting the sound, not the mufflers. Also I don't notice any drone, but with it being so much louder I might just be missing it

Thanks for your help. I am going to order a Mak X-pipe on monday. I am pretty sure that the x-pipe is worth some good power. What is the issue you are having with your Predator?

I did not get a light...ran for a few days like that, then i loaded tune...so definetely no light. As far as sound goes...twice as loud as stock when on gas hard. Just cruising sounds exactly the same. Idle..especially when cold,is a bit louder. It sounds stock like...but with more of a raspy sound to it.

Cool...I am going to call MAK tomorrow and order it first thing. This sounds like the perfect setup for me. Louder under WOT, but relatively quiet under partial throttle. If it's not loud enough for me, I can always get a cat-back
