Anyone paint inside boomtubes?

I have boomtubes and love them, but there is a little rust starting to form inside the tips. Has anybody here painted the inside of the tips with hi-temp paint? If so, how did it look and did it hold up? I was thinking flat black.

You could do this, but I think the better solution is to get a Meguires power ball with some metal polish and polish them back up. It'll take less time, and then you have the ability to polish the inside of your tips any time you need to.

I hadn't thought of that, but the inside of the tips are not polished to begin with, so I am wondering if a power ball would be enough. The polished exterior of the tips are fine.

Steel wool will probably clean them up, but they'll rust again. I like your original idea, Just clean them up with steel wool and then paint w/VHT high heat paint. No more worries.

i just let a little bit of carbon build up on the inside of mine. Keep the outsides and the very tip clean, that's all.

Painted the inside of the tips last night with flat black hi-temp paint. Actually came out really nice.

Subtle, but I think it's an improvement.
